زمینه و هدف: گلوبوزواسپرمی یک ناهنجاری مورفولوژیکی شدید اسپرم در مردان است که در آن اسپرم‌‌‌ها دارای سر کروی شکل هستند و با کاهش یا عدم وجود آکروزوم در نمونه اسپرم آنها تشخیص داده می‌شود. در این مردان، سطح بالایی از آسیب DNA و بستهبندی کروماتین غیرطبیعی گزارش شده است. این کمبودها میتواند به عنوان علل اصلی نابارور در این افراد در نظر گرفته شود. هدف از این مقاله، بررسی ساختار کروماتین اسپرم در مردان نابارور با گلوبوزواسپرمی است.
مواد و روشها: در این مقاله مروری نظاممند، 77 مقاله مرتبط با کمبود پروتامین، آسیب DNA و آنوپلوئیدی در افراد گلوبوزواسپرمی در فاصله سال‌‌های 1971 تا 2017 از طریق پایگاههای اینترنتی PubMed،Scholar  Google و Scopus جمعآوری شد.
ملاحظات اخلاقی: این مطالعه با کد IR.ACECR.ROYAN.REC.1396.204 در کمیته اخلاق پژوهشگاه رویان مورد تایید قرار گرفته است.
یافته‌‌‌ها: میانگین درصد آسیب DNA اسپرم و نقص پروتامین به طور معناداری در مردان نابارور گلوبوزواسپرمی در مقایسه با مردان بارور بالاتر بود. با این وجود نتایج متناقضی در رابطه با آنوپلوئیدی کروموزومی اسپرم در مردان نابارور گلوبوزواسپرمی در بین مطالعات وجود داشت.
نتیجه‌گیری: در مردان نابارور گلوبوزواسپرمی، علاوه بر تشکیل غیرطبیعی آکروزوم، به عنوان مهمترین اتیولوژی شکست در لقاح، میزان بالای بستهبندی غیرطبیعی کروماتین و آسیب DNA اسپرم نیز می‌تواند در این پدیده درگیر باشد. بنابراین درمان آنتی اکسیدان قبل از تکنیک تزریق داخل سیتوپلاسمی اسپرم برای کاهش آسیب کروماتین اسپرم در این افراد پیشنهاد شده است.
