زمینه و هدف: افسردگی و اضطراب اجتماعی اختلالات شایعی در کودکان هستند که با آسیب‌شناسی شناختی والدین مرتبط می‌باشند. پژوهش حاضر با هدف مقایسه افسردگی و اضطراب اجتماعی کودکان دبستانی مادران با سطح انعطافپذیری شناختی بالا و پایین انجام شده است.
مواد و روش‌ها: این پژوهش یک مطالعه با طرح علی- مقایسه‌ای بود. جامعه آماری پژوهش شامل کلیه دانش‌آموزان پایه چهارم تا ششم مقطع ابتدایی شهر اراک (و مادران آن‌ها) در سال 96-1395 بودند. به منظور انتخاب نمونه، از روش نمونه‌گیری در دسترس استفاده شد. بدین‌ترتیب، بر مبنای نمرات مادران در پرسش‌نامه انعطافپذیری شناختی، دو گروه از مادران با انعطافپذیری شناختی سطح بالا و پایین انتخاب و نمرات کودکان آن‌ها که به پرسش‌نامه‌های افسردگی کودکان و اضطراب اجتماعی کودکان و نوجوانان پاسخ داده بودند، با استفاده از تحلیل واریانس چندمتغیره مورد مقایسه قرار گرفت.
ملاحظات اخلاقی: این مطالعه با کد اخلاق IR.ARAKMU.REC.1397.298 در دانشگاه علوم پزشکی اراک به تصویب رسیده است.
یافته‌ها: نتایج حاصل تفاوت معناداری در ترکیب خطی متغیرهای وابسته در دو گروه مورد بررسی نشان داد (892/0 =لامبدا ویلکز، 474/14 =97،2F، 000/0 =p). آزمون‌های تک‌متغیره تحلیل واریانس نیز نشان داد که کودکان دارای مادران با انعطافپذیری شناختی پایین دارای افسردگی و اضطراب اجتماعی بیشتری نسبت به کودکان دارای مادران با انعطافپذیری شناختی بالا هستند.
نتیجه‌گیری: به‌طور کلی، انعطافپذیری شناختی مادران احتمالا به واسطه توانایی کنترل‌پذیر دانستن موقعیت‌های دشوار، درک تبیین‌های جایگزین برای رفتارهای انسان و ایجاد راه‌حل‌های جایگزین برای موقعیت‌های دشوار پاسخ‌دهی به کودکان با افسردگی و اضطراب اجتماعی آن‌ها مرتبط است. بنابراین، مادران نیازمند آموزش و اصلاح بیشتری در توانایی انعطافپذیری شناختی خود جهت بهبود بیشتر در افسردگی و اضطراب اجتماعی کودکان هستند.
