مقدمه: مولتیپل اسکلروز، یکی از شایع‌ترین بیماری‌های نوروتیک است که غالباً بین 40-20 سالگی رخ می‌دهد و زنان دو برابر مردان به آن مبتلا می‌شوند. هدف پژوهش حاضر، اثربخشی درمان مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد بر علائم روان‌شناختی (اضطراب، افسردگی، افکار روان‌پریشی)، انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی و متابعت درمانی بیماران مبتلا به ام‌اس بود.
روش کار: روش این پژوهش نیمه‌آزمایشی با طرح پیش‌آزمون و پس‌آزمون با گروه کنترل بود. جامعه آماری پژوهش شامل کلیه بیماران مبتلا به ام‌اس مراجع کننده به بیمارستان حافظ (درمانگاه امام رضا (ع) و شهید مطهری) شهر شیراز در سال 1402 بود. از میان جامعه آماری تعداد 30 نفر به شیوه نمونه‌گیری در دسترس انتخاب و به صورت تصادفی در دو گروه آزمایش (15 نفر) و گروه کنترل (15 نفر) جایگزین شدند. گروه آزمایش تحت آموزش 8 جلسه‌ای درمان مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد قرار گرفتند. به‌منظور جمع‌آوری داده‌های پژوهش از پرسشنامه انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی Dennis و Vander Wal(2010)، پرسشنامه علائم روان‌شناختی نجاریان و همکاران (1380) و پرسشنامه تبعیت دارویی موریسکی و همکاران (2008) استفاده شد. داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون‌های توصیفی و تحلیل کوواریانس چندمتغیره تجزیه و تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد که بین میانگین نمرات علائم روان‌شناختی (اضطراب، افسردگی، افکار روان‌پریشی)، انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی و متابعت درمانی در گروه آزمایش و کنترل تفاوت معنی‌داری وجود دارد (0/05P < ). به‌عبارت دیگر درمان مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد بر علائم روان‌شناختی، انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی و متابعت درمانی بیماران مبتلا به ام‌اس اثربخش بوده است.
نتیجه‌گیری: درمان مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد، با بهره بردن از 6 فرایند پذیرش روانی، گسلش شناختی، خود تحت عنوان زمینه، تعامل با زمان حال، ارزش‌های مشخص شده و رفتار متعهدانه، قادر است به‌عنوان درمانی مؤثر در جهت کاهش علائم روان‌شناختی، تقویت انعطاف‌پذیری شناختی و متابعت درمانی بیماران مبتلا به ام‌اس مورد استفاده قرار گیرد.
