Abstract
Mumps of epidemic parotitis is a viral infection usually characterized by the develoement of parotitis. Several complications including meningoencephalitis, deafness, orchitis, oophoritis, mastitis, nephritis, and diabetes mellitus have been reported. CNS, ophthalmologic and hearing and cardiac complications are very important.The study is on 131 patients under the age of 15. More than 85percent of cases were under the age of 11 who were in school age. Male to female ratio was 3:1. The most common complaints and physical disorders were vomiting 73.75percent, fever 49.6 percent and swelling of parotid 41.22percent CSF Pleocytosis has been reported in 42.74 percent of cases and leukocyte counts were under 500cells IMM3 in more than 70 percent of patients that lymphocytes were predominant. Serum amylase increased in 70.8 percent. Vomiting, nausea, fever, headache parotid enlargement, convulsion, abdominal pain similar to appendicitis, adema of neck, face and upper ches, meningoencephalitis, encephalitis, hematemesis petechial, testicular enlargement, arthraigia and deathness also have been reported in this study.

Abstract
Background: Urolithiasis is one of the causes of renal colic. The annual incidence of this disease is 1-2/1000 people. Due to the severity of pain, adverse effects of routine treatments and incomplete pain relief, more effective methods of treatment have always been sought for. Alhagi Pseudalhagi distillate is a traditional herbal medication used for urolithiasis. Due to its wide availability and no previous report of adverse effects, we decided to evaluate its impact on ureteral stone expulsion. Materials and Methods: In this single-blind randomized clinical trial, 100 renal colic patients whom visited in Arak Vali-asr Hospital or its clinics were divided into two groups. Group1 received Thiazide, Tamsulosin, and analgesics and group 2 received Alhagi Pseudalhagi distillate in addition to aforementioned drugs. The patients were followed upto 4 weeks and the stone expulsion rates and their times were compared. Results: The average stone sizes for groups 1 and 2 were 4.66 and 4.32 mm, respectively (p=0.128). Stones in both groups were mostly located in lower ureter (p=0.551). Expulsion occurred in 40% of group 1 and 66% of group 2 patients (p=0.009). The mean expulsion times for groups 1 and 2 were 11 and 9 days, respectively (p= 0.291). Conclusion: Alhagi Pseudalhagi distillate had a significant effect on the rate of stone expulsion and it is likely to decrease the time needed for the passage of Urolithiasis stones.

Abstract
Background: H.pylori is one of the most common chronic bacterial infections in population so more than 85 percent are infected in Iran. H.pylori can cause different gastrointestinal disease like gastritis, peptic ulcers and even cancer. One of the effective factors in pathogenesis of bacteria is cytotoxin associated with gene A (cagA). Strains with cagA gene are more virulent. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of cagA gene of H.pylori in patients with gastric disorders who were admitted to Imam Hossein Hospital, Tehran. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, DNA was extracted from 84 paraffin- embedded tissues using QiaAmp tissue kit. H.pylori was verified with PCR of 16sRNA sequences specific for Helicobacter spices and cagA gene was determined using specific primer by the PCR method. The prevalence of cagA gene in three clinical groups gastritis, gastric ulcer, and atrophic patients was compared. Results: Among 84 H.pylori positive isolates ,72 biopsy samples were positive for 16sRNA (85.7%) and 46 (63.9%) for cagA. The prevalence of cagA positive strains in peptic ulcer patients (43.5%) was greater than in those with gastritis (30%). Conclusion: Results showed that Helicobacter pylori strains with cagA are more common in patients with peptic ulcer and cancer.

Abstract
Background: Seizure is an abnormal electrical activity probably due to an imbalance between excitation and inhibition in the brain. Pentylenetetrazol (PTZ) is a chemical convulsive agent abundantly used in laboratory animals. PTZ induces a change in glutamate and GABA in the brain which this study investigates the persistence of this change.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 18 male Wistar rats divided into 3 groups. Three i.v doses of PTZ 20, 25 and 30 mg/ml were used to determine the effective PTZ dose. Convulsive behaviors were monitored as tonic clonic and myoclonic twitches. Hippocampal glutamate and GABA contents were measured using a biochemical method.
Results: Dose of 20 was resulted in long latency to and short lasting TC convulsions with a high volume of injected PTZ solution. On the other hand, dose of 25 and 30 led to short latency and long lasting convulsions with low volume of injecting solution. However there was high rate of mortality (100%) in dose of 30 mg/ml. Hippocampal glutamate content was decreased in zero and 20 min groups while GABA content was decreased only in 20 min group.
Conclusion: It is concluded that dose of 25 is the appropriate i.v dose to induce TC convulsions in rats which decreases glutamate and GABA while increases the ratio of glutamate to GABA. Therefore, alteration of glutamate and GABA may be the basis for subsequent seizure induced changes.

Abstract
Background: Corticosteroids as dexamethasone are used for treating non-specific inflammatory diseases, however, may result in delayed wound healing due to its catabolic effects in skin. Thus, the purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of quercetin on delayed wound healing in dexamethasone-treated rats.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 40 male Wistar rats were used. After dermal incisions within a distance of 1.5 mm to the spinal column (30 mm length), rats were treated with 0.17 mg/kg dexamethasone, 50 mg/kg quercetin or both until 21 days. Wound healing was evaluated by measuring surface area, percentage of healing, wound length, duration of healing, and wound tensile strength.
Results: Our results showed that the duration of wound healing was significantly increased in dexamethasone treated rats in comparison with control group. In contrast, the rate of healing and skin tensile strength in dexamethasone treated rats receiving quercetin was significantly greater than dexamethasone treated group. In addition, the duration of wound healing in the dexamethasone treated group receiving quercetin was less than dexamethasone group.
Conclusion: This study provides some evidence to support the use of quercetin to accelerating wound healing in dexamethasone treated animals. However, Further research is needed to determine the quercetin mechanisms in acceleration of wound healing.

Abstract
Background: Few studies have investigated the possible ways to prevent lead induced defects during gestation and lactation. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of melatonin as a hormone with antioxidant properties on oxidative stress in the hippocampus and learning and memory impairment induced by administration of lead.
Materials and Methods: Pregnant rats were exposed to treatments of control, lead acetate (0.2% solution in water), lead acetate + melatonin and melatonin (10 mg / kg by oral gavage) from gestation day 6 until weaning. 21 days after birth, the activities of several antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and catalase (CAT) as well as malondialdehyde levels in hippocampus of 23 male offspring rats were assayed. To behavioral studies, on postnatal day 30, 57 rats were trained 6 days in the Morris water maze and the probe test was performed 24 h later.
Results: The results showed that administration of lead during pregnancy and lactation could increase MDA levels and decrease glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase and catalase antioxidant enzymes activities in the hippocampus of male offspring. Also, this treatment significantly disrupted performance of the Morris water maze test and impaired learning and spatial memory in male offspring compared with control. Administration of melatonin attenuated lipid peroxidation and could improve learning and spatial memory deficits and the activity of antioxidant enzymes in lead exposure group.
Conclusion: Melatonin as a neuropotective drug can protect the hippocampus against the complications of lead exposure, in the course of development.

Abstract
Background: The efflux pumps are one of the main mechanisms of resistance to antibiotics in E. coli and K. pneumoniae strains. The aim of this study is to study the association between genes coding efflux pumps AcrAB and Qep A and ciprofloxacin resistance among E. coli and K. pneumoniae clinical strains
Materials and Methods: This study was done on 100 strains of E. coli isolated from Taleghani and Labbafinejad Hospitals and 100 strains of K. pneumoniae isolated from Taleghani and Mofid Children Hospitals. Antimicrobial susceptibility tests were performed by disk diffusion method based on CLSI guidelines. Identification of genes encoding efflux pumps Acr AB and Qep A was done by PCR technique.
Results: In this study, fosfomycin and imipenem had the best effect against E. coli clinical isolates and fosfomycin and tigecycline had the best effect against K. pneumoniae clinical isolates. PCR assay demonstrated that the prevalence of AcrA, AcrB and QepA genes among E. coli isolates were 92%, 84% and 0%, respectively and among K. pneumoniae isolates were 94%, 87% and 4%, respectively.
Conclusion: The prevalence of genes encoding efflux pumps in E. coli and K. pneumoniae clinical strains, which causes resistance to fluoroquinolones, is cause for concern. Therefore, controlling infection and preventing the spread of drug-resistant bacteria needs to manage medication carefully and identify resistant isolates.

Abstract
Introduction: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common liver disorder in industrialized societies. As an appetite inhibitory and energy balance regulator, nesfatin-1 plays a substantial role in the pathogenesis of obesity-related abnormalities. This study was conducted to determine the effects of 12 weeks of combined training (resistance training and high-intensity interval training (HIIT)) on the serum levels of nesfatin-1 and some liver enzymes in men with NAFLD.
Methods: In this semi-experimental study, 20 middle-aged men with NAFLD were randomly divided into two exercise and control groups. The exercise program included 12 weeks of combined training, featuring two sessions per week of resistance training and one session of HIIT. Body weight, body mass index (BMI), nesfatin-1 peptide, liver enzymes (ALT, AST, and ALP), lipid profile, maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), and body fat percentage at the beginning and after 12-weeks were evaluated. Independent and dependent t-tests were analyzed to assess intra-group and inter-group differences, and the significance level was
P < 0.05.
Results: 12 weeks of combined resistance training and HIIT increased nesfatin-1 and decreased liver enzymes ALT, AST, and ALP in the exercise group compared to the control group and the pre-training stage (P < 0.05). We also observed an increase in VO2 max and a decrease in body weight, BMI, body fat percentage, and LDL in the exercise group compared to before starting the training protocol (P < 0.05).
Conclusions: Based on the results of the present study, it can be concluded that performing combined exercise training for twelve weeks led to an increase in nesfatin-1 peptide levels and a decrease in liver enzymes. It was suggested that this could be a cost-effective therapeutic approach recommended for patients with NAFLD.

Abstract
Introduction: For many people, infertility is a prominent crisis and cause of mental stress that causes many unfavorable psychological reactions. The purpose of the research is to design a cognitive-behavioral coping training package with the stress of infertility and its effectiveness on the hope of infertile women.
Methods: The present study was conducted using a mixed method using the qualitative part, content analysis type, and the quantitative part, semi-experimental, in the pre-test-post-test-two-month follow-up design with the control group. The statistical population of this research was infertile women referring to infertility centers and gynecology and infertility specialists in Kermanshah in 2022. A sample of forty women was selected as a sample using the purposeful sampling method and replaced in two groups (experimental and control) in a simple random manner. Data were collected from Newton et al.'s infertility stress questionnaire (1999) and Schneider's Hope (1991). The data was analyzed using a content validity test and repeated measurement variance analysis tests.
Results: The designed educational package was valid and adequate. The findings showed a significant difference between pre-test, post-test, and follow-up in the component of hope, and this difference continued until the follow-up stage.
Conclusions: The educational package on cognitive-behavioral coping with the stress of infertility of infertile women can be used to reduce the stress and increase the hope of infertile women.
