Abstract: (186 Views)
Background: Vitamin D has been shown to play many roles in increasing physical ability in addition to its role in calcium absorption and bone strength. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of balance exercises using a disc dura and a mini trampoline along with calcium and vitamin D3 intake on the balance and function of the lower limbs in adolescent girls.
Methods: 40 adolescent girls were randomly selected from among the adolescent girls in schools as a statistical sample. The subjects were divided into four groups (10 in the discus balance exercise group + calcium and vitamin D3 intake, 10 in the mini trampoline exercise group + calcium and vitamin D3 intake, 10 in the discus exercise group, and 10 in the mini trampoline exercise group). In the supplementation method, the subjects received 50,000 international units of vitamin D3 per week and 1,000 mg of calcium per day for 8 weeks along with performing discus balance exercises and mini trampoline. After collecting the data, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to normalize the data and the repeated measures analysis of variance test was used to examine the difference between the pre-test and post-test, and then the difference between the groups was tested through the two-way analysis of variance test at a significant level (p≤0.05).
Results: The results obtained showed that the results of the analysis of variance test with repeated measures showed that in the two stages of pre-test and post-test in the factors of static balance, dynamic balance, explosive power, flexibility, there was a significant increase between the groups of balance exercises of the disc dura + calcium and vitamin D3 consumption, the group of mini trampoline exercises + calcium and vitamin D3 consumption, the group of disc dura exercises and the group of mini trampoline exercises (p=0.000). This value was higher in the groups of balance exercises of the disc dura + calcium and vitamin D3 consumption and the group of mini trampoline exercises + calcium and vitamin D3 consumption than in the other groups. The results of the two-way ANOVA test showed that there was a significant difference between static balance, dynamic balance, explosive power, flexibility in the groups of balance exercises of the disc dura + calcium and vitamin D3 consumption, the group of mini trampoline exercises + calcium and vitamin D3 consumption, the group of disc dura exercises and the group of mini trampoline exercises.
Conclusion: According to the results of the present study, it seems that the static and dynamic balance indices in the disc dura balance exercises group + calcium and vitamin D3 consumption performed better than the other groups, and in the explosive power and flexibility factors of the mini trampoline exercises group + calcium and vitamin D3 consumption, this value was better than the other groups and can be considered as an effective intervention method.
