Introduction: Health communication is a very important and complex area of research and application. The goal of health communication is to increase knowledge about the challenges facing health care delivery and health promotion. Therefore, the present study seeks to provide solutions to deal with the harms of health communication in critical situations from the perspective of experts.
Methodology: The qualitative research method was content analysis. In order to collect information, a semi-structured interview technique was used. The data were analyzed through coding and content analysis of the themes. Sampling was carried out using a purposive method. The sample size was also determined based on the rule of "theoretical saturation" to be 15 experts and specialists in the field of media and the health system.
Findings: The results of this study show that in this area, six strategies are emphasized to deal with the harms of health communication, including "holding officials accountable", "reliable sources and producing effective content", "anxiety management", "avoiding exaggeration of public participation", "teamwork and combining experts", and "using the experiences of other countries". In addition, in the areas of causing harm, factors such as pervasive and popular media, lack of authority of the health unit, mass information, and politicization were pointed out.
Conclusion: According to the findings of this study, it is necessary to strengthen the article's solutions to the harms of health communication. Accordingly, the country's health system officials should provide the necessary basis for this important achievement.
